Breast are marked out by a surgeon pre-operatively
The nipple areola complex is elevated to a new higher position still attached to the glandular tissue underneath.
The breast tissue is re-moulded into a cone.
Outcome
Most patients retain the sensation in the nipple
If you could breast feed before surgery you should be able to after surgery
Scars from surgery are similarly located as for a breast reduction around the areola, vertically down to the submammary fold and sometimes transversely in the fold under the breast depending on how loose the skin is.
Recovery
10 days to heal
Dissolving sutures are used
4 weeks to return to full physical activity aided by the wearing of a sports support bra.
